Santorini is one of those islands where the timing is super important! Unfortunately, the island gets super crowded and sometimes dare I say unpleasant because of the number of people and tourists. If you're willing to travel in the off season, I highly recommend it. September to October and April to May are the best times to go. I personally prefer mid September because I like a strong sun so I can get a good tan.

The weather in Greece is still really nice in the off-season. I've traveled to Greece in September and October and have still had beach weather.

Late September, October, and even early November are fantastic months to see Santorini! Hotels, restaurants, cafes, the wineries are still operating, some of them are open throughout the year and the weather is still warm.

I love Santorini anytime between May and October. Weather-wise May can be challenging - there are intense winds, and also things haven't quite woken up.

I had a really hard time with the winds in Santorini when I visited in late April. Personally, its not worth the chance since Santorini is pretty pricey.

Off the beaten track suggestions for Santorini?

I've been completely mesmerized by the postcard photos of Santorini, but beyond the blue domes and the sunsets of Oia, I'm looking to uncover some of the island's best-kept secrets. What do you suggest?

Have you stumbled upon any villages, beaches, or local haunts here that you loved? Or maybe historical sites too? I am just looking to do something different that what is typical.

Views like this wouldn't hurt!

Best Souvenirs to Bring Back from Santorini

I am going to Santorini soon and I love to shop and get gifts for people.

Could anyone suggest the best souvenirs to take home from Santorini that would give a taste of the local culture and charm to friends and family? I'm looking for things that are unique to the island - something you can't find just anywhere else!

Any tips on where to find these local treasures would be super helpful, too.

Hotel in Santorini with a view like this?

My wife and I are going to Santorini soon. We usually stay with people, but they don't live on the caldera like this.

I thought it would be a nice treat to stay somewhere for a few days that his this kind of a view!

I know there are some great caldera-perched places in Oia. I know they're expensive but they seem worth it.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Budget trip to Santorini?

I'm in the early stages of planning a dream trip to Santorini, but I'm trying to do it on a tighter budget and would love any advice you could share.

Santorini’s stunning views, iconic blue domes, and sunsets have been on my travel list for years, and I'm finally taking the leap to make it happen. Given its reputation as a luxury destination, I'm looking for ways to experience the best of Santorini without breaking the bank.

If you have tips on affordable accommodation (are hostels a good option here, or should I be looking at another type of lodging?), budget-friendly eating spots that don't skimp on the experience, and must-see sights that won’t cost a fortune, I’m all ears.

Also, if there are particular times of the year that are more budget-friendly than others, I'd really appreciate insights on that as well. Plus, any advice on getting around the island affordably would be a huge help.

Last but not least, if there are any lesser-known gems or tips for experiencing Santorini like a local, I’d love to hear about those too.

Taking a Boat Tour of Santorini?

I am really excited about my trip to Santorini and wanted to do something different. Was thinking of a boat tour! However, with so many options available, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and would love to hear from those who have experienced boat tours in Santorini before.

I'm particularly interested in hearing about your recommendations for boat tour companies or specific tours that stood out to you. Whether it's a catamaran cruise, a traditional Greek wooden boat excursion, or a luxury yacht experience, I'm open to all suggestions!

What were the highlights of your boat tour? Did you visit iconic landmarks like the volcanic hot springs, the famous Red Beach, or the picturesque island of Thirassia? How was the overall experience in terms of service, safety, and value for money?

Also, any tips or advice on booking the tour, such as the best time of day to go, whether morning, afternoon, or sunset, would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I choose the right tour that fits my preferences and budget.
