What can I do in the Ladadika district?

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to visit more places, and expand my trips to Greece beyond my falimies village lol. I’ve heard a lot about the Ladadika, but does it live up to the hype? What’s really there and is it worth visiting?

There’s definitely a lot of hype, I remember always hearing about the Laladika in old Greek songs. I think the Laladika used to be a pretty popular rebetika district, with a lot of great music and partying. According to my cousins, it’s not really like that anymore :(

The Laladika district has some of the best shopping I've done in Greece!

New Year's Celebration in Thessaloniki?

Does anyone know what is going on in Thessaloniki for New Year's? There's a chance I could be in the city this year during it and I want to get a feel for what to expect. I went to Greece to visit some family over Christmas.

I heard that they light fireworks at midnight somewhere? Is this true? I'll be visiting some people, so I am assuming they know what is going on, but I want to have a general feel for it.

Some cities have a big celebration outside. I didn't know if Thessaloniki was one of those places.

I'm planning a visit to Thessaloniki soon, and I'm really keen on exploring the local markets there.
