Spending Greek Easter in Athens?

I am not sure I have enough time to plan this for 2023, but I might if I start taking action. I am contemplating spending Greek Easter in Athens or the surrounding area. I have heard stories of people doing so, and I am curious about it. I want to go either this year or next. What do Greeks do typically for Easter? Is it possible to go to a monastery, or something? I know Easter is just in a few weeks... What do you guys think?
 
It is possible to go to a monastery for Greek Easter - I have heard of people doing that. I just don't know the details! It might take you a while to sort it out and maybe even build the relationship with a monastery so that you can visit for Easter. I have unfortunately never done it myself, but I would love to!

I'm planning a trip to Athens and I'm a bit of a shopaholic. I want to make the most of my time there and experience the best shopping the city has to offer.

I have never been to Mount Lycabettus, although I've been to Athens a handful of times - it just never came up to go here.

What I love about visiting Athens

I am planning another trip to Greece and plan to go to Athens. I have been so many times! I thought I would share with you what I love about it.

  • Sunset at Lycabettus Hill: Watching the sunset from Lycabettus Hill offers panoramic views of the city and the Aegean Sea. It's a magical experience, especially when accompanied by live music at the hilltop chapel.
